Ooo I just love this little DIY project and it's especially perfect for all you Winter Brides out there. Taken from the dazzling blog,
Elisa McLaughlin Designs, this fun winterscape creates the perfect table topper or centerpiece and comes right from your own backyard (well, some of it does!). This DIY is fairly basic and leaves a great deal of room for embellishment and enhancement, so feel free to get carried away and really make it your own perfect setting for the cocktail hour or wedding reception!
What you will need:
- Pinecones
- Dirt
- Moss
- Fake Mushrooms (can be found here on Etsy or at a local craft store)
- Tea Cup OR Bowl (dish with depth)
- Saucer (optional)
- Skewer
- Hot glue gun
- Silver spray paint
Fill the dish up halfway with dirt and cover the top with moss. Take the skewers and break them into 2 inch pieces. Hot glue them to the base of the pine cones.
Using the silver spray paint, embellish your pine cone as much or as little as you would like. According the
Elisa McLaughlin, the pinecones do soak up a good deal of the paint to be prepared to apply a few layers.
Arrange the pine cone sticks and mushrooms around the moss however you would like. Feel free to add any other decorative touches like pebbles or fake snow.
