Eco-Chic Weddings

Eco friendly is a big thing for us now in the US. Everyone wants to recycle, save energy and preserve the earth. Being eco friendly does not mean you have to be dry and boring! Going "Eco-Chic' is a new trend in weddings in an events. If your planning to have an eco-chic extravaganza, here are some ideas I found from brides.com that you can use to make your event trendy and POSH and still use natural resources.

This bouquet was made with beautiful lotus blossoms.

This cake which was made by cakeobsessions.com, was decorated with bamboo and leaves. Bamboo represents sustainability!

This tree-saving trifold invite uses embossed recycled paper and minimizes the number of inserts. Envelope by Zelda Tannenbaum for Hollis Hills Mills, 516-876-7373; calligraphy by Karen Charatan, karencharatan.com; burlap tablecloth available from TriServe Party

Organic fabrics and paper place mats, metal seats and glass stemware—all recycled—created a trendy eco-chic decor. Goblets and tumblers (used as votives) by Green Glass, greenhome.com. The wax candles by Lumia, greenhome.com; Bottles are by Homebrew Adventures, homebrew.com. Recycled glass tumblers by Fire and Light, fireandlight.com.

Organic cotton napkins tied with variegated leaves with teak-handled flatware and biodegradable bamboo plates. Napkins by Janice's, janices.com; flatware by VivaTerra,vivaterra.com; Veneerware plates by Bambu, bambuhome.com.

Irish moss in recycled glass is wrapped in burlap. Burlap by Jo-Ann, joann.com; tag by Staples, staples.com.

This drink was a smoked-pear infused vodka topped with champagne and pear syrup poached in white wine. Sounds like a bit much, but probably tasted yummy!

Here are some pictures with a different twist on eco-chic wedding...

Here is a beautiful invitation from lilribbers @ Etsy.com. These cards were printed on recycled linen textured paper and have butterfly cut-out embellishments flying upwards from the grass motif. Matching envelopes in spring-time green. You can also order matching Save-the-Dates, Thank you notes, menus, programs, etc..
